Tomorrow is our annual homeschooling conference--one of the highlights of the year for me! Not because there are so many books to buy--I won't be buying much this year, although browsing is fun; not because of the workshops, although lots of them sound interesting; not even because I get to yell Hi to some of the friends that I only get to see this one time a year; but just because it's such a blast getting a thousand homeschooling parents together for the day.
"The young person who is steeped in history will be armed against the latest fashions in What Everybody Knows. He’ll understand, if but intuitively, that a study conducted by an eel, in the pot of eels, on the habits of the other eels, is going to be of limited applicability to raccoons foraging freely over the woods." ~~ Anthony Esolen
